Bologna can be seen in only 24 hours, for real. Here there are some tips in order to let you see as much as possibile.

The Two Towers are the symbol of the city. The construction of these towers began at the end of the 11th century, when there were like 180 towers in this city. Can you imagine it? Of course not, since only a few can still be seen. This was the way the richest families showed their power. The two towers are located at the intersection of the roads that lead to the five gates of the old ring wall. The taller one is called Asinelli, while the smaller is called the Garisenda, and, as you can guess, the names come from the families who decided to build them.

This is the city that houses the oldest university in the world, since it was founded in 1088. Bologna has always been very important over years, since Etruscans times, up to Middle Ages. It is situated in the centre-north of Italy, and it is its seventh largest city in the country.

Its economy lies primarly on the industrial sector, among which textile, publishing, and ceramics branches are the most relevant. But the number one sector is by far that of the automobile, which is celebrated every year through the world-renown Bologna Motor Show, held in the Fiera District of the city.
